Spotted! Jessica Alba was seen in Beverly Hills wearing our Gold-Coated Drusy Studs while she was out and about catching a quick bite. Alba recently wore a pair of our 14 karat gold Cavansite studs so we’re excited to see that she is becoming a repeat MJM fan!

Cameron Diaz looks smoking hot in our one-of-a-kind 14 karat gold ammonite and stalactite necklace in July 2010’s InStyle issue. Photographed by Michaleangelo Di Battista and styled by Rossela Tarabini, Diaz models on a vintage motercycle and car in the desert as she talks about her new action packed film “Knight and Day”. She mentions how she loves fashion with a little bit of edge which we love to hear especially from such a charismatic and stunning actress.

This Earth Day, Melissa offered up some green advice to Fashionista along with a few other designers.  Melissa’s tip: “Fashion your own re-usable bags sans logo by sewing two vintage scarves together and using a cool belt as a handle. Plastic “eco bags” are still plastic. We need to stop using plastic altogether- recycling it releases chemicals into our atmosphere.”  See more tips and the full article here.

Azurite malachite makes us think of those photos of the earth taken from outer space, and Earth Day makes us think of things we can do in the coming year to be better green citizens.  Melissa recently spoke with Melissa Lum of Lucky Magazine about her sustainable business practices and a few ideas about small things we can all do to reduce our impact on the environment, and the result was this great Eco-Profile on their blog.  One tip for you jewelry lovers: Try a non-abrasive toothpaste as a sterling silver polishing agent. Using toothpaste as a polisher means you won’t be introducing harmful chemicals into the environment or down the drain.

We had a ton of fun on Monday when the folks from Fashion Week Daily visited our studio to do a segment with Melissa for Chic Report TV.  Melissa shared her wealth of knowledge on the history and properties of stones like agate (used for protection on warrior’s breastplates), amethyst (thought by Ancient Romans to ward off intoxication), ammonite fossil (400 million years old!), and selenite (just plain cool-looking), and then answered some of Chic Report’s other questions about stones, which you can see here.
