Season of Giving with the B Corp Community - 20% Off

Monday, December 7th, 2009

If you are on our e-mail list you probably received our Season of Giving promo for 20% off, with similar discounts from fellow Certified B Corporations.  Melissa Joy Manning Inc. recently went through a thorough evaluation process to become one of the now 200-or-so businesses certified by B Lab as meeting their comprehensive and transparent social and environmental standards, joining the ranks of well-known green brands like Method and Seventh Generation.  B Lab’s goal is to create a marketplace of B (which stands for Benefit) Corporations that will form a collective voice of social responsibility and comprise 5-7% of the US GDP in a generation.  Just last week, Philadelphia became the first city in the nation to provide a pilot tax break to certified B Corporations, and we are hopeful that B Corporations will continue to gain this kind of recognition over time.  At Melissa Joy Manning we are committed to operating in a sustainable and socially responsible manner and we are proud to now be a part of the B Corporation community.  For more information, go to www.bcorporation.net or read these articles from The Nation, Inc. Magazine, and The New York Times.

Thank you to all the bidders who participated in the auction and congratulations to the lucky winner.  We would also like to thank SeaWeb for their ongoing efforts to raise awareness for ocean conservation.
